Ukiset

UKiset is an age-standardised assessment used by many UK independent schools as an indicator of how an international candidate compares to students of the same age in the British education system. The two-hour test includes an online maths, verbal/non-verbal reasoning and English exam with a thirty-minute hand-written essay. BE’s international tutors have years of experience in preparing students for all four components of the test.

Common Pre-Test

The Common Pre-Test is ISEB’s standardised test used to assess pupils' potential when they are 10 or 11 years old, as opposed to the traditional exam age of 12. The exam consists of multiple-choice tests in maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Although ISEB state that no special preparation is required, most students will undergo preparation in some form; BE’s unique pre-tests identify students’ strengths and weaknesses in relation to the required content and allow us to create tailor-made study plans that help students achieve the best results possible.

Common Entrance (11+)

Common Entrance refers to a set of exams, administered by the Independent Schools Exam Board (ISEB), which are taken for entrance to independent schools at the age of 11 or 13. At 11+, candidates who are 10 years old sit examinations in English, mathematics and science. BE’s unique pre-tests identify students’ strengths and weaknesses in relation to the required content and allow us to create tailor-made study plans that help students achieve the best results possible.

Common Entrance (13+)

Common Entrance refers to a set of exams, administered by the Independent Schools Exam Board (ISEB), which are taken for entrance to independent schools at the age of 11 or 13. At 13+, candidates who are 12 years old sit examinations in English, mathematics and the sciences, with options to sit others. BE’s unique pre-tests identify students’ strengths and weaknesses in relation to the required content and allow us to create tailor-made study plans that help students achieve the best results possible.

School-Specific Entrance Exams

Alongside Common Entrance exams, many schools set their own assessments to be taken for entrance to independent schools at the age of 11 or 13. They follow a similar format to ISEB but vary in difficulty, with some being much more challenging. BE has a catalogue of past-papers and unique pre-tests which identify students’ strengths and weaknesses in relation to the required content and allow us to create tailor-made study plans that help students achieve the best results possible.
